Annual Cardboard Boat Race
NEW Kayak "Bridge of Boats"

Your kayak will assist with race day expenses and help to inform the hundreds
of spectators of the historic British invasion of 1777. The British constructed a
bridge of boats across the river near where the Dix Bridge is at Hudson
Crossing Park. Planks were strung across bateau that acted like trestle piers
and 6,000+ soldiers crossed the waterway there.
As part of Race Day festivities, local businesses are invited to sponsor a Kayak
in the "Bridge of Boats". Sponsors will have their names and logos on the
Hudson Crossing website and on display at the event.

1. PFD is required for all kayakers
2 .Please drop off kayaks at Schuyler Yacht Basin and park at Ft. Hardy or the Boat
launch on the towpath behind Curtis Lumber
(please be in the lineup at 10:30)
3. Dress to promote your small business
4. Stick around to see the main event- races start at 1 P.M.
5. Please submit by July 22nd, and note if you need a kayak (and PFD) provided.
Decorate your kayak to promote your business or as part of this year's theme
"Pirates on the Hudson"
Just be sure decorations don't end up in the river.
