2010 Hudson Crossing Turning Point Parade Crew

A Float!

Look for a Big Turtle in the Turning Point Parade

Thanks to a creative crew of volunteers, Hudson Crossing will once again be represented in the impressive Turning Point Parade this Sunday, August 7 at 1:00pm.

Would you or some children you know like to be part of the festivities by accompanying the float?
Contact Julie White at tjnawhite@netzero.net for more information. The theme is "The Great Outdoors"- a perfect fit for Hudson Crossing! Outdoor- themed costumes and props strongly encouraged.

Want to do more than just march? How about building your cardboard boat for next weekend's race and taking it for a dry run on a wagon, maybe with a happy sailor with a fishing pole on board?

Mary, Queen of Weeding

Fairy Queen of Weeding

Local Kids Join Moms to Weed Play Garden

Thanks to Mary, Patrick, Lizzie, Luke, Emily, Sean, Sean, Annika, Camilla, Cameron, and Alayna and their moms for combining their picnic outing with a chance to give back to the Park. It's volunteers like you that make this such a special place! Watch for these young helping hands when you next visit- they are generously doing their part to keep it so beautiful.

Of course, there wouldn't be much garden to care for without our reliable grown-up Garden Tenders and role model volunteers- Jody, Quimby, Martha, Darryl, Mark, Deborah, and Tracy- THANKS for weeding and watering and nurturing our planted areas in the Play Garden, at Eagle Point, and at the Knox Trail Pocket Park!

Wild Parsnip

Dangerous Weed Lurking Near Park

Volunteers Begin Cautious Removal

Wild Parsnip is in the area but thankfully a few of our dedicated Garden Tenders have begun carefully identifying and removing it from the Knox Trail Pocket Park. There is still no sign of it in the Play Garden, but we should all be vigilant about stopping the spread of this nasty invasive species. For more information, including pictures and suggestions about how to eradicate it, please visit the New York State Department of Transportation website. Thanks Garden Tenders for your efforts to eliminate it!
