Allee of Oaks

The Allee of Oaks, also known as the Meadow in the Sky, is a growing grove of native oak trees located at Hudson Crossing Park. Established in 2023, this unique landscape features an allee of oak trees that extends the Riverwalk Sensory Trail and creates a peaceful place for visitors to connect with nature while enjoying sweeping views of the surrounding landscape.

More than a beautiful destination, the Meadow in the Sky was designed with ecological health in mind. The grove includes seven varieties of native oak trees, carefully selected for their ability to support local wildlife. Oaks are considered keystone species because they provide food and habitat for hundreds of species of birds, insects, and other animals, making them some of the most important trees in North America.

As the project continues to grow, additional native understory trees and shrubs have been planted to support a healthy forest ecosystem and provide even more habitat for wildlife. Benches at the end of the allee offer a quiet place to sit, reflect, observe nature, or simply enjoy the view.

The Allee of Oaks represents Hudson Crossing Park's commitment to conservation, education, and accessibility. As these young trees mature, they will create a lasting legacy for future generations—a place where people can learn about native ecosystems, experience the beauty of the natural world, and appreciate the vital role that oak trees play in our environment.
